Historical records point to the existence of a fort at Cabo da Roca in the 17th century that played an important role in the port of Lisbon, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. Currently there are only traces, in addition to the lighthouse which remains an important point for navigation.

Near the historic center of Sintra stays one of the most beautiful architectural and landscape creations of Romanticism in Portugal: the Park and Palace of Monserrate, unique witnesses of the ecclesiastics of the 19th century.
- CASTELO DOS MOUROS
The Castelo dos Mouros allows to admire, along the paths of round, between cliffs and cliffs, a unique landscape that extends to the Atlantic Ocean. Overlooking the Serra de Sintra, with irregular configuration, it consists of a fortification built around the 10th century after the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, and expanded after the Christian reconquest.
