Historical records point to the existence of a fort at Cabo da Roca in the 17th century that played an important role in the port of Lisbon, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. - CASTELO DOS MOUROS
The Castelo dos Mouros allows to admire, along the paths of round, between cliffs and cliffs, a unique landscape that extends to the Atlantic Ocean. Overlooking the Serra de Sintra, with irregular configuration, it consists of a fortification built around the 10th century after the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, and expanded after the Christian reconquest.

The visitor of Boca do Inferno, easily realizes the magnificence of the place. On days of more agitated sea it is possible to observe the beating of the waves by the rocks inside.
